6 Cobb County Volunteer Opportunities for Teens

:Spring is in the air and summer plans are in the making! In this blog, I would like to share several volunteer opportunities for teens to consider trying this summer. This list focuses on Cobb County and supplements the list of Atlanta opportunities I shared last year.

Please note many of these opportunities require parental supervision and/or parental consent. I hope you enjoy these suggestions and good luck planning your summer!

1) Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb This is a great opportunity for those interested in health care. Requirements: 16 years old and up, photo I.D., immunization records and application. Contact: Email Megan Freeman to RSVP for orientation and the application.
 2) A.G. Rhodes Health and Rehab Center This opportunity allows teens to interact with Senior citizens and bring joy to their lives.  Requirements: 15 years old (with adult supervision), 16 years old (without adult supervision), TB skin test (administered onsite) and application. Contact Email or call Kim Beasley at volunteer@agrhodes.org or 404-245-4111.

3) Cobb County Library Do you enjoy reading or have a passion for books? The Cobb county library system relies on the assistance of volunteers.  
Requirements: 15 years old and up, parental consent if under 18, application here for those under 16 and here for those 17 and over. Requirements: 15 years old and up, parental consent if under 18, application here for those under 16 and here for those 17 and over. Contact  Follow links under above requirements for information.

4) Kennesaw Mountain Trail Clean-up If you enjoy being outdoors, think about this option! Consider working with the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club. Requirements: no age requirements but those under 18 need parental consent. Contact  Call 404-623-8093 or  email here.

5) Chattahoochee Nature Center CNC is a gorgeous place to volunteer and learn about about wildlife at the same time. Requirements: 16 years and up (12-15 need adult supervision), fill out waiver and enrollment form. Contact: Call at 770-992-2055 or email here.

6) GoodMews-Cat Rescue Do you love cats and kittens? If you are interested in working with animals, this is a great opportunity for you. Requirements: 18 years old, 16-17 (with adult supervision), fill out application. Contact​: 770-499-CATS (2297).
